CNAM and JQI member Vladimir Manucharyan has been selected for a 2017 Young Faculty Award by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). This program identifies and engages rising research stars in junior faculty positions at U.S. academic institutions and provides funding, mentoring and industry and DoD contacts to awardees to develop their research ideas in the context of DoD needs. Prof. Manucharyan's proposal, "Multi-terminal hybrid semiconductor/superconductor junctions", is aimed toward developing devices that will serve as robust building blocks of a topological quantum computer and act as test beds for topological effects predicted in exotic materials. Congrats Vlad!!!
